Should've posted this on july 7th. The first loaf of pre-sliced bread was produced on July 7 1928.

Especially when everyone always skips over the first two slices whenever they reach for bread.
Makes no sense.

And skips the last two, as well... middles, ftw.

What do you mean "makes no sense"? If you like those not-so-tasty slices then eat them yourself?

The reason why we skip over the first two slices of bread is because the outside slices do not retain moisture well. and if you keep skipping the first two slices through out your usage of the loaf then you will have moister sandwiches until you reach the end and your left with four pieces of terribly dry crumby bread which I usually just end up throwing at hobos.

While at Virginia Beach, I learned the true value of the outer four slices. No one wants to throw good bread at seagulls, but watching them death spiral for your unwanted bread is too good to resist.

Perhaps sliced bread was invented before knives.

Then what did they slice the sliced bread with? Sticks? And if so how would they have sharpened the sticks to slice the bread?

Sharp edged rocks/stones whatever you want to call them.

Also I much prefer sliced bread because come on now who can really be bothered to either rip chunks of bread off the loaf or actually slice it yourself. We're lazy species

were are such lazy species that we forget the indefinite article "a" when typing sentence.

Or that when using the contraction "we're," there is no need to add another "are," because by that you're essentially saying "We are are such lazy species." And then the only thing I can say is "Yes, yes we are."

Non-sliced bread always tastes better, but sliced is more convenient for breakfast when your running late and far too asleep to be using knives...

Vitskaft what I mean is I don't know why people (including me) render said slices as nonyummyable.. No need to overanalyze, kthx. (:

Sliced bread is overrated. I would definitely prefer a pb&j made out of chunks or perhaps cubes of bread. It would be most tasty.

If the saying is "the greatest thing since sliced bread" then its not everything BEFORE sliced bread that's dull as hell, but everything between sliced bread and the object in question.

TIME LINE!

1928- sliced bread. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2010 - RWF Article about bread

So if you were to say this article is the greatest thing since sliced bread, that means nothing between 1928 and 2010 was as great as sliced bread (which is untrue because we has Prince) and therefore must be dull as hell

And the worst thing is PB & J in one jar. What, people can no longer be bothered to open 2 jars!? Lazy fucks!

I like pb and j in one jar because it helps the jelly keep better and a plain pb sandwich sucks with out milk which also doesn't keep well. so pb and j in one jar was a ---send(atheist) when my fridge broke.

Definitely have to agree. PB&J in one jar is lazy and doesn't taste nearly as good.

I think I've found out what the best thing before sliced bread was, MASSIVE SANDWICHES!!
p.s. sorry for being a tool and posting anonymously, I forgot my password

I would definitely prefer to use the whole loaf of bread for a sandwich. And feel like a viking.
