Hilariously in Ireland drugs are measured in ounces, and there was us adopting the metric system in the early 70s.

These comments just go to show that potheads know way more about math compared to most everyone else.

I've heard people name amounts in Imperial, but weigh in metric, so the concept sits comfortably with me, especially as it fits that transitional stage of learning the conversions, though applying them outside of drugs doesn't seem to come up that often in the circles I've seen it in.

come on people. it's both. an ounce is approximately 28 grams. so a half is 14g, a quarter is 7g, and an eigth is 3.5g.

but i don't and will never do drugs.

Yeah, well, imperial looks quite a pain in the ass to me. Probably it's because here we never use it, nor does any of the surrounding Countries (I believe).
So, uh, start using metric you Anglo-Saxons. Yeah, do that.

weed is a drug, i was a long time smoker of weed...i only dont now because smoking is horrible for your health. And weed slows your mind. I still love it and the smell of it is enough makes me smile.

but it is a drug, just as coffee lsd or alcohol is. its less dangerous than most but still a drug nonetheless.

here in Straya dope is usually sold in Q's a quarter of an ounce (with fractions wow) the the Q is quickly divided into 7 Grams

haha here (US northeast) we use metric to weigh but we sell in imperial. e.g. "Can I get an 1/8th[oz]?" "sure, let me weigh out 3.5 grams."

Here in BC we go by both metric and imperial (when dealing with drugs). You have your 1 gram, 5 gram, 10 gram, or 1/8 ounce 1/4 ounce, 1/2 ounce.

One thing drugs helped with is conversion. 1/8 of an ounce is 3.5 grams. 1/4 is 7 grams etc... No way I would know that if I didn't get high

i believe in imperial because when your just looking for a little its more fun to acquire a half eighth rather than a gram. then you could roll a fatty and have some for later.

....but you can agree that it has not helped your grammar.

here in UK we go both, an eighth should be 3.5g etc but larger amounts are always an ounce, half or quarter. We do like our imperial measurement here what with our miles and our pints of beer :)

in the Seattle area grams are used for anything under a half-ounce, then we move to customary

Weed is sold in terms of ounces but its never as much as they claim. an eighth is generally about 3.5 gram in the UK.
anything that comes as a powder is sold by the gram
